• V lens system with high resolving power 

Light and small – a digital SLR for business use: A High-performance V lens system helps dramatically reduce the size and weight of our SLR-type Dimage RD3000 digital camera. 

The V lens optical system design is very compact, with smaller aberration. The inclusion of the AD glass lens and aspheric lens has incredibly improved various aberrations to produce high-contrast, vivid description of the image from end to end. The high resolving power of the V lens has been well proven in APS prints.  

Benefit of V lens system: 
- In comparison with 35mm format interchangeable lenses, V lenses are smaller and lighter in weight.  
- The V lens length is 80% of comparable 35mm format lens, 60% in volume and weight.

• Truer-to-subject view angle 

With existing digital SLR cameras coupled with conventional 35mm format interchangeable lenses, the view angle that the lens originally provides is significantly different from the view angle of the image on the CCD because of the considerable difference between the CCD size and 35mm film image size. In order to compensate the view angle difference, current digital SLR cameras use relay optics which prevented reduction of overall camera size. On the Dimage RD3000, Minolta has adopted its V lens system, designed for APS SLR cameras, to couple with the new digital SLR as highly effective solution to overcome both of those difficult obstacles.  

The Dimage RD 3000 features a new image size which is almost compatible with the APS C format size so that the view angle given by the attached lens is approximately the same as that of the image on the CCD. 

• High-precision autofocus

The Minolta technology offers highly-precise autofocus and ergonomically comfortable operation for the Dimage RD 3000 digital SLR camera with maximum ease-of-use. The built-in-lens actuator has helped improve autofocus accuracy. Direct manual focus meets requirements to manually fine-tune focusing.
