With dimensions of just 109 x 79.5 x 128.2 mm and a weight of only 480 g, the CAMEDIA C-2500L is one of the worlds lightest 3x zoom SLR digital cameras. At the heart of the strikingly designed innovation is a progressive2/3 inch high performance CCD chip.
Together with the superb camera software and an excellent 9.2 –28 mm zoom lens (corresponds to 36 – 110 mm lens on a 35mm camera), images of professional quality areguaranteed. The special TTL contrast detectionsystem with focus assist light further ensuresneedle-sharp pictures from any distance.

Main Features:
Extreme macro mode
The high resolution lens consists of seven glass elements in seven groups (including an aspherical lens). Due to the outstanding workmanship and materials used, the C-2500L enables photographs to be taken from as close as 2 cm (!) from the object.

Two card slots
As a special feature, the ground-breaking camera is equipped with two card slots. While the captured digital images are stored on inexpensive SmartMedia cards (up to 64 MB), Compact Flash cards will deliver special functions for innovative solutions.

Perfect illumination
Besides a powerful integrated flash system, the C-2500L offers as the first digital camera in this performance class, the option to control an external flash. Through precise TTL measurements and shutter speeds ranging from 1/2 to 1/10,000 second, perfect photos are assured even in the most difficult of conditions.
Broadening its scope for enhanced application enormously, the C-2500L is ideally complemented by the CAMEDIA FL-40 external flash. Designed especially by Olympus for digital photography, the flash unit – which also lets remarkably precise manual adjustments be made – has a guide number of 40 at tele and 26 at wide.

Numerous adjustment options and special functions
Ensuring excellent results are quickly and easily attained, a sophisticated range of automated functions are included. To allow greater flexibility for the ambitious photographer, the C-2500L offers an array of manual control possibilities. These include focusing, aperture (F2.8 or F5.6), exposure, ISO sensitivity, exposure compensation and white balance to name just a few.
Also equipped with rapid and sequential image shooting functions and ready for action virtually as soon as it is switched on, the CAMEDIA C-2500L makes sure that special and unique moments are never missed.

Variable image resolution
To provide the best picture quality for every purpose, five different recording resolutions are offered. Besides the uncompressed Super High-Quality (SHQ) mode, the photographer may also choose between SHQ, HQ, and two SQ modes (SXGA or VGA). Uncompressed digital images are stored in TIFF format while the remaining recordings are compressed at a rate of 1/2.3 or 1/8 in JPEG format.

Multimedia functions
The CAMEDIA C-2500L features a video output allowing a television screen, for example, to be easily connected. As the camera also supports the new Digital Print Order Format (DPOF), the image files stored on SmartMedia cards can be read directly by certain printers and copiers. This also makes further professional processing at photo laboratories even more simple.
Together with the Olympus P-330E dye-sublimation photo printer, top-quality images can be effortlessly produced without the need for a computer or even a cable. The SmartMedia storage card is simply inserted into the card slot and the instruction given to print. Results are available within seconds and can of course be reproduced any number of times.

Availability
It is anticipated that the CAMEDIA C-2500L will be available in Europe from September. The camera will be shipped with a SmartMedia storage card, remote control, rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and charger, as well as the new multimedia management program, MediaSuite Pro.
