More compact and lightweight than earlier CAMEDIA models, the C-2000ZOOM offers various automatic programs. With this innovation, photographers can now choose between taking high-end digital photos virtually by the touch of a button or individually adjusting numerous photographic parameters. The newly developed convenient "toggle" allows to navigate through the menu options with just a fingertip. Sensationally, the C-2000ZOOM is also the first Olympus digital camera to offer a comfortable remote control.

The versatile manual setting modes include focusing, aperture (F2.0 - F11) and shutter adjustment to capture subject and background in just the way the photographer wants. Because also sensitivity, exposure compensation and white balance can be manipulated, the C-2000ZOOM allows the taking of perfect pictures even in unfavourable situations. Best of all, the photographer can control the quality immediately on the camera’s display and does not have to wait for the film to be developed.

In addition to the internal flash with four different flash modes, the C-2000ZOOM also offers external flash synchronization. This feature allows the use of powerful external flash devices.

Sophisticated programs can be relied on when quick shots need to be taken. Settings are adjusted perfectly by the precise TTL contrast detection, the lens driving system and the programmed exposure control with digital ESP metering. When necessary, spot light metering is also possible.

For increasing the resolution and quality of digital photographs even further, the C-2000ZOOM is equipped with a 1/2" CCD with 2.1 million pixels together with an excellent optical system delivering outstanding results. There are five quality modes to suit the photographer’s wishes and a Multivariator 3x zoom lens system consisting of eight elements in six groups with two aspherical glass lenses. An additional 2.5x digital tele can be set to four different magnifications.

The multimedia functions of the C-2000ZOOM include a video-out terminal, direct-print function and new DPOF file standard for storing more image information on the SmartMedia card. The DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) allows direct reading of image files on a range of printers and is the new photo laboratory standard for processing digital images.

With the included cable, the C-2000ZOOM can be directly connected to a PC. Even more convenient is the transfer of the picture files with the optional adapters. Processing and managing digital photos has never been so easy!

The user-friendly C-2000ZOOM features Olympus’ new concept design which uses aluminium outer parts resulting in a compact, lightweight and durable digital camera. For connecting tele and wide adapters and the Olympus FlashFilm Scanner to this camera, the optional CLA-1 adapter is available. This new top model of the CAMEDIA digital camera range comes including 8 MB SmartMedia card and remote control RM-1 and will be launched in Europe in March ’99
