Conceived as an All-In-One digital SLR camera, the Olympus C1400XL is equipped with all the digital photographer needs for creative and perfect digital photographs. In response to requests from users who wanted greater creative scope with their digital SLR cameras, Olympus has developed converter lenses for wide, tele and macro effects especially for the Olympus C1400XL. Action shots can be viewed one by one on the 4.5cm TFT LCD monitor, or presented as a fully automatic slide show at the press of a button.

The Olympus C1400XL has a powerful flash system, as well as a quick focus mode. Besides a SmartMedia card with 4 MB of memory, users can opt for 8 or 16 MB cards. To print the images stored on the SmartMedia cards, Olympus currently offers two dye-sublimation photo-quality printers. Without needing computer support, both models deliver brilliant postcard-size prints, which are virtually indistinguishable from conventional laboratory photos.

The Olympus C1400XL comes complete with powerful Nickel Hydride batteries, an exclusive charger and a 4 MB memory card.

The new Olympus C1400XL combines excellent performance with many additional innovative features setting new standards as did its award-winning predecessor, the C-1400L. With a 1.41 million pixel-CCD guaranteeing highest resolution and a 3x zoom lens it delivers crystal-clear pictures in brilliant colours. Its large DRAM allows up to five images to be taken in 0.3 seconds each. Synchronisation with an external flash is also possible. On the TFT LCD monitor the images can be regarded comfortably and for storing the pictures a SmartMedia card with 4 MB of memory is included. Another extra is the 2/3 inch (1.7cm) CCD solid-state image pickup achieving 1,410,000 Pixel (total) 1,310,000 Pixel (effective).
